A Well Kept Automobile Secret Revealed

It is not very often that you come across obvious Adams in life. This is the rare specimen of human beings who can see the obvious very perfectly in any situation. 

Well, I have to admit, even such a breed of people would find it hard to uncover a well kept automobile secret. This is concerned with the location of the fuel tank in your car. 

Most times, we learn it the hard way by craning our necks out of the car window and putting our neck muscles to the ultimate test in strength. When we find it is still not possible to find out, we bite the bullet, take a quick walk to the back and confirm the loaction of the tank. 

I bet you would be horrified if I told you that you could find out where your gas tank is located right from the comfort of your seat. It is staring at you from your dashboard. I bet you would not have noticed it like most of us. No more strain on your neck and back. 

On your car dash, there is a fuel gauge which shows a small fuel pump icon as in (see picture at the bottom of this article) 

The handle on the fuel pump extends to the left side or to the right side of the pump. Now comes the cool stuff - If you see the handle on the left side, it means your car fuel tank is on the left side. If the handle is on the right side, then your car fuel tank is on the right side. 

Voila! Why were we not told this before by anyone, starting from the car manufacturer to the guy who sold the car? It looks like the ignorance on this matter has filtered right from the top to the person driving the car.
